The Packages by Day screen lists all available Package Plans for attaching to a reservation. A Package Plan posts a flat fee to the guest's folio while the revenue gets internally distributed amongst the component posting types that make up the package. The Package Plan command in the Manager's Commands Menu is used to generate the package plans available at your Property. When a package plan is attached to a guest's stay record, the guest will see the total "package" charge, but reports will show the revenue attached to each component. A package plan combines several package components in order to build a package to be sold to a guest. A package plan may be attached to the stay at the time of reservation, where the appropriate package may be selected from those available on the (Quick) Reservation screen, or using the Dates screen or Packages screen in the Reservation Wizard. You may also add (or change) a package associated with the Stay on the Stay Info tab of the folio screen. Any package plan attached to a guest stay, along with the total package price, is visible on this tab.
Packages may be attached to a reservation in multiple ways - any screen showing the Packages field, which is a drop-down menu of the available package options to select from, allows you to quickly choose a package to add. However, adding a package using this field will add the selected package to EVERY NIGHT of the Stay. For example, a dinner package - if the stay is 7 nights, the dinner package will be added to each night (meaning 7 dinner packages). If this is not desired, use instead the Packages screen in the Wizard, or the Packages by Day screen accessed using the Packages by Day button on the Reservation screen or on a Folio Stay Info tab, to open the Packages screen where you can select and add packages to the stay for each specific day in the reservation.
Once created, any package plans available at your Property for adding to a reservation will be shown on the Packages by Day screen. However you reach it, the Packages screen will look similar. The Packages by Day screen shows a tabular list of all the configured package plan options with the dates selected for the reservation on the right.
You may select any of the packages available, for ANY of the days of the reservation, by either typing directly into the box under the date for that package, or by using the up/down cursor to select the desired number. You may save your selections using the orange Save Packages button at the bottom of the screen, and when finished use the orange button Finish>> at the top to return to the screen you arrived from, where the selected packages will now be attached to the reservation. (To remove a package, simply change the selected number in the package to 0 before returning).
Note: Packages should INCLUDE the room revenue. Amenities do NOT. You can reach the Amenities by Day screen directly by using the Amenities by Day button on the Reservation screen or on a Folio Stay Info tab, rather than the Packages by Day button, or you can display the different amenities configured for your Property from the Packages by Day screen, by clicking on the radial button for Amenities rather than for Packages at the top of the screen (Packages is the default display on this screen).
As in the Packages by Day screen, the Amenities by Day screen shows a tabular list of all the configured Amenity options with the dates selected for the reservation on the right. You can then select from the different amenities configured for your Property the same way as packages.
If a Package Plan (or Amenity) has been designated as having LIMITED AVAILABILITY, on the Packages screen it will be indicated in GREEN how many are still available.
No green number in parentheses means the Package is unlimited and may be reserved as often as wanted.
Once the total available has been reached, the Package will no longer be available for selection.
